THE LATE MR McGOVERN.

Well known in the Hutt Valley and Wellington was the late Mr F. J. McGovern, licensee of the Trentham Hotel, whose death occurred at Trentham early on Saturday morning from heart failure. The deceased had been in Wellington on Tuesday, but before reaching home he became ill. He was medically attended during the following days. The late Mr McGovern, who was a native of Ireland, came to New Zealand twentyseven years ago, and settled at Kaitjangata. There he entered into business as a hotelkeeper, and also took some part in local- politics. Coming north, Mr McGovern was for many years licensee of the Taita Hotel. Recently he relinquished that house, and became succesWellington, and of the Trentham Hitel. Wellington, and of the Trentham Hotel. A widow and three children, Messrs J. and V. McGovern, of Wellington, and a little girl, are among the bereaved. The deceased’s brother is a' runholder at Waimate, Canaterbury. The interment took place at the Upper Hutt.

Our readers will notice that on page 5 there appears an advertisement by Mr. Henry Wilding, of Auckland, who has a reputation for finding lost friends, and sometimes foes. He can be relied upon to procure any information that may be required, and as to collecting money from unwilling or rettiring debtors, he holds the record.
