Auckland A defeated University Seniors by five points to two. University played one man short, but the game was very even. * * * * United seniors defeated Auckland B by three goals to nil. * * * * Tinslay played a splendid game for University, and must surely be picked in the rep. team. * * * * Aiderton is picking up his old form, and has played very determinedly the last two matches. * * * * Kavanagh must be acknowledged to be the best back playing this season. * * * * Crisp, as centre-half for University, played a really fine game against Auckland A on Saturday. His hitting was very sure. * * * * College Rifles A played Uuniversity Juniors at Remuera, the former winning by four points to one. For the winners, Alexander (bully), H. Steele (half) and S. Sellers (back) were decidedly the pick. Price and Bunkail (full-backs for ’Varsity) played splendidly, and it was due to their brillinat stopping that the score was not bigger. * * * * United Juniors scored four goals to nil against College Rifles. * * * * St. George’s B were defeated by Auckland juniors by three points to nil. H. Laird, for St. George’s, showed good form. * * * * The first round of the ladies’ Association matches has been concluded, and the various clubs stand as follows.
The Hockey Association hold their euchre and dance to-morrow night. It promises to be a great success. * * * * Bloomfield plays a solid game as back for United Seniors.
