The fact should not be overlooked by owners that entries for all events must be made to Mr. C. F. Mark on or before Friday, October 6, at 9 p.m.

Mr. R. C. Hungerford, secretary of the N.S.W. Trotting Club, kindly forwards me a copy of the annual report and bal-ance-sheet. At the annual meeting, when referring to the year’s operations, President Moriarty said that practically all the items in the financial statement showed an increase on the previous season’s transactions, with the exception of members’ fees, which showed a slight falling off, but present indications gave promise of this being remedied. .Twentyone meetings had been held, and the results were very satisfactory. As showing the progress the club was making, and as evidence of its good effect on the sport of trotting, the chairman mentioned that in 1902-3, the first year of the club’s existence, £909 had been given in stakes, in 1903-4 £1485, and in 1904-5 £1925, an increase of £440 on the previous season. Generally speaking, the sport was in a sound position, and he paid a tribute of praise to the manner in which the club’s interests had been attended by Mr. R.. C. Hungerford, the secretary. The motion for the adoption of the report and balance-sheet was carried unanimously.
