WAIKATO HUNT CLUB BACKS.
The annual race meeting of the Waikato Hunt Club was held' on September 10 at Btu'dowrie, Cambridge, and was a distinct success. The management was excellent. Dlr J. Taylor was judge, Mr A. J. Storey starter, Mr C. W. Arnold clerk of the stales, Dlr J. Mayor clerk of the course, and Mr X. Banks secretary. The following are the results : — HUNT CLUB HURDLES of 10 sovs, one 'mile and a half. Mr-C, Selby's - Guard Van, 10.7 (owner) 1 Hr C. Shaw's Reckless, 11.7 (owner)... 2 Mr H. Crowther's Kaitere, 12.0 (owner) 3 Five others started. Reckless led to the straight, but was beaten in the run home. MAIDEN WELTER HANDICAP of lOsoVs one mile. Mr N. Banks’ Green and Gold, 10.2 (Quinton) 1 Mr H. Bullock Webster’s Mocassin. 9.0 titawaras) *. • 2 Six others started. Green and Gold won from ...cart to finish. HUNT ' CLUB STEEPLECHASE of 20 sovs, about three miles. Mr D. Boss' Evermore. 11.10 (G. Paul) 1 Mr C. Shaw's Reckless, 11.5 (Shaw)... 2 Mr H.. Crowther's Kaitere,. 12.5 3 Four others started. Reckless, as in the first race, led to the straight, but was beaten in the run home. HACK RACE of 11) sovs, six furlongs. Mr N. Banks (been and l Gold, 9.7 (Quinton) I Dlr C. Shaw's Glenora, 8.3 (Shaw) ... 2 Thirteen started. Won easily. LADIES' BRACELET. Miss AlcCaw's Meteor. 10.3 (Paul) ... 1 Dliss Shaw's Heather Bell, 11.0 (Shaw) 2 Eight started. A fine race : won by good horsemanship in the run home. . ELECTRIC HANDICAP Mr DI. Laurie's Zulick a, 9.5 1 Mr 1). Ross’ Hillflower, 9.7 2 Six started.
