CRICKET
[By
STONEWALLER.]
Mr G. H. Broughton has been elected secretary of* the Auckland Cricket Association, in succession to Mr A.. E. Dunningham, who has retired from the position. Mr Broughton is very devoted to the game, and there can be little doubt that he will be the right man in the right place. The Victorian cricketers who arrived''on Sunday journeyed to Rotorua' on Monday morning just to have a glimpse of the Hot Lakes scenery before entering on the work of the tour. The members of the team are—Messrs Ross, manager and captain, H Trumble, H. Graham, A. A. Aitken, H. Owen, D. Mcllwraith, A. H. Russell, H. Fry, A. R Cave, E. R Jacobs, D Mailer, and D. G. Jennings. The match with the Auckland representative commences this Thursday morning The Domain should be well attended, for it is not often, we have the opportunity of witnessing the ability of such a strong team as the Victorians undoubtedly are. The secretary of the Cricket Association, Mr G. H. Broughton, has the arrangements for the match in capital order, and no doubt he will deserve congratulation at the end of the game.
