The weights for the first day’s racing of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club will appear on Monday next, October 3. To-morrow (Friday), September 30, acceptances are due with the secretary for the following races to he decided-at the Spring Meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club : — Spring Handicap, Trial Hack Handicap, First Hurdles, First Hack Hurdles, Handicap Hack Flat, Wanganui Guineas, and Flying Handicap. On Wednesday next, October 5, the weights for the Wanganui Jockey Club’s second day’s handicaps will appear. On Wednesday, October 5, acceptances for the following events, to be run at the Wanganui Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting, are due : —Owen Stakes, Flying Hack, Second Handicap Hurdles, Second Handicap Hack Hurdles, Final Hack Handicap, Marangai Stakes Handicap, and Wanganui Stakes. Nominations for the followin'* races, to be run at the Spring Meeting of the Poverty Bay Turf Club, close on Friday, October 7 Spring Handicap, Flying Handicap, First Hurdles, Second Hurdles, Steeplechase, Makaraka Handicap, Waikana Handicap. Nominations for all the events to be decided at the Spring Meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club close with the secretary, Mr C. F. Mark, to-morrow (Friday), September 30. The very good stakes should attract numerous entries for the first trotting meeting of the season. On the same day nominations for the Exhibition Cup will also close. The stake for this chief

event of the Summer programme is 200 sovs, a figure which should cause the best trotters of this and other colonies to pay Auckland a visit. The handicaps for the events to be decided on the first day of the Auckland Trotting Club will be declared by Mr Knight on Tuesday next.
