The Auckland Coursing Club have, after some weeks of deliberation, agreed on the dates for their inaugural meeting on the new Plumpton that has been laid out on the Avondale racecourse. I'he dates they have chosen are Wednesday, June 14th, arid Saturday, June 17th, which shows that, like the Auckland Racing Club with their Steeplechase Meeting, they believe in the virtues of the Wednesday and Saturday halfholidays that exist in Auckland. We do not say they are wrong in the decision they have arrived at, and we trust that their first meeting will be a big success and lead to the thorough resuscitation of coursing in Auckland, but with all due regard to the Wednesday and Saturday half - holiday idea that has evidently entered into the minds of some of the committee we take leave to express our opinion that no better dates could have been procured than those of Monday and Tuesday, June 5 and 6, which intervene between the two days of the Auckland Racing Club’s Winter Meeting.
