For all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding 25 sovs in value at time of entry. Nomination, 10s; Acceptance, 15s. Distance, one mile. Handicap Hurdles of 35 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. Over seven flights of hurdles. Nomination, 15s; Acceptance, 20s. Distance, one and three-quarter miles. Papakura Cup Handicap of 60 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from stake. Nomination, 1 sov ; Acceptance, 2 sovs. Distance, one and a quarter miles. Handicap Novel Race of 20 sovs. Winner to be sold immediately after the race. The whole of the proceeds to go to the Club. Nomination, 10?; Acceptance, 10s. Distance, seven furlongs. Railway Plate (Handicap) of 35 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from stake. The winner of the Papakura Cup to carry a penalty of 71bs extra. Nomination, 15s; Acceptance, 20s. Distance, one mile. Handicap Steeplechase of 60 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. Nomination, 1 sov; Acceptance, 1J sovs. Distance, about three miles. Flying Stakes Handicap of 30 sovs ; 1 second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. Winner of Papakura Cup to carry a 7lbs penalty; of the Railway Plate, 51bs ; of both, lOlbs extra. Nomination, 10s ; Acceptance, 15s. Distance, six furlongs. DATES OF NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominations close on Friday, .February’ 24th, 1893, at 10 p.m. Weights to appear about Friday, March 3rd, 1893. Acceptances close on Friday, March 10th, 1893, at 10 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will be received for any of the races except upon this condition: —That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered, or neglecting to declare his colours at the time of entry, will be fined 3 sovs. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. Any person neglecting this rule will be fined 2 sovs. No nomination or acceptance will be received on any iretence whatever after the hour named, or without being accompanied by the necessary amount of cash. The attention of owners is particularly called to this regulation. All persons intending to withdraw horses are requested to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of Scales one half hour before the official time of starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine not exceeding 5 sovs to the race fund. All races to be run under the A.R.C.’s new rules. Five per cent, deducted from all winnings. All entries to be addressed to the Secretary, Globe Hotel, Papakura, or care of Mr W. Blomfield, Durhamstreet East, Auckland. WM. L. LOCKHART, Secretary. We are glad to hear that he will be brought over under the charge of E. A. Day, a nephew of the late John Day, of Danebury, and of the still living William Day, the eminent author trainer. Mr Day, we understand, leaves England for Buenos Ayres on the 17th inst.. and hopes to arrive on these shores with ‘the ] horse of the century ’ early in January.
