ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.
On Monday October sth, the weather being beautifully fine, trainers took the opportunity of getting through some serviceable work before breakfast. The following horses worked on the course proper —The Dancer and Puwerewere went a couple of rounds slow. Karewa and Fishmonger put in two circuits at a good half pace; as did also Hopeful Kate. Ingorina had King Cannibal for a companion for a couple of rounds at steady pace, while Ma Boughal in company with The Barb did two circuits at a good sound pace, the former moving very freely. Priscilla put in a good twice round, and Macaroni a circuit at about half pace. Sambo went once round at about three-quarter speed. The Workman and Orakei, both with sweaters on, were sent two rounds steady. Reprisal, Welcome, Queen Rose and Nile were restricted to slow work. St. Clements and Chance each did a couple of rounds at half pace. Lorace, with sweaters, had Kapai for a mate for a useful three rounds on the plough. Fiesole went once round on the plough slow. ' On Tuesday all the horses worked on the plough. Lorace went three times round at about half pace. Orakei, Priscilla, and Ingorina each did a couple of circuits steady. Reprisal was sent i| miles, being joined by Swiftsure at the six furlong post, both coming home at a good pace. Ma Boughal and The Barb were sent a couple of rouuds steady, the Titania filly accompanying them the last round. Macaroni traversed a steady once round, and the jumper Chance did three times round steady. Fishmonger and Karewa put in a useful three rounds. The Dancer and Puwerewere were associated together for a couple of rounds steady.
