J. McHugh, the trainer, has lost the three-year-old colt by King Cole—Rosalie, which has been ailing for a considerable time. He was bought by a patron of McHugh’s stable at the dispersal of Mr. J. Hand’s thoroughbreds, he never raced, but was a colt of great promise, McHugh was unflagging in his efforts night and day to save him, without avail. A post mortem was proposed to definitely fix the cause of illness, but owing to Mr. Halstead’s absence at the Waikato Hunt Club races it could not be held.
