CHRISTCHURCH.

(from our own correspondent.) The idea of sending a team of athletes to England seems to have died a natural death. With the exception of the C.A.A.C. all the other clubs seem to have been against the proposal, but Mr. Cuff intends bringing up the scheme again next year. The next meeting of |he Wellington A.C., which takes place on the 14th, promises to be a great success. Both A. and J. Hempton are likely to compete, and a race between the exchampion and King is sure to be worth seeing. It is understood that Batger will not compete in any of the events, The Pioneer Bicycle Club have decided not to hold a meeting at Easter this year, as the Lancaster Park will be in use for a trotting meeting.
