April 19, A Song Recital. On Wednesday evening a song recital was given by Aliss Alillieent Jennings, in the ( hoi a I Hall. The songstress was assisted by Mies Irene Morris (violinist) and Airs. Osmond I*. Smith, at the piano. Alies Jennings wore a gown of geranium red satin, with tunic overdress of fed ninon and bronze beads, and a red band in her hair. Two beautiful boutpiets were presented to her. Miss Irene Morris wore n pretty white lace frock, with touches of pale pink velvet; jMrs. Osmond Smith, black, with cream lace. A Kitchen Tea. On Wednesday afternoon a kitchen tea was given by the matron and nurses of the Salisbury Street Trained Nurses’ Club, for one of their members, Nurse Kirk, who is shortly to be married. The Rev. E. K. Alules and Airs. Alules left Christchurch last week for Wellington, en route for England.

Mrs. Boyle (Christchurch) has gone to Wellington to meet her son. Lieutenant David Boyle, of H.AI.s. New Zealand.

'Airs. Andrew Anderson (Opawa, Christchurch) lias gone to meet her son, who is a midshipman on H.Mjs. New Zealand.

Air. and Airs. Alister (dark (Melbourne ) are the guests of Airs. George E. Rhodes (Meadowbank). Airs, and Aliss Gould (Fendalton) are staying at “Woodbury.” with Airs. Sin-clair-Thompson. Airs. Blunt (Merivale) is spending a few days with Airs. Knight at Racecourse Hill. Air. and Airs. Andreae have returned to Christchurch from Auckland. Miss Allies (Wellington) is staying with friends in Christchurch. Airs. Hay and 'Aliss Hay (Temuka) have been spending a few days in Christchurch. Air. and Airs. Killian ((‘lent Hills) are staying at New Brighton. Airs. John Williams has returned to Gerladine, after spending a short time in Christchurch. Air. and Airs. Alaitland Congreve have returned to I'hristchurchfrom the South. Captain and Airs. Stockley (England), who have been paying visits in NortW Canterbury, have returned to Christchurch. 'Mrs. Burdon has returned to Woodbury from Christchurch, where she was staying with friends. Aliss Simpson (Wellingtonl is visiting Christchurch. Aliss Barnes (Christchurch) is spending a short holiday in Napier. Miss Bruce lias returned to Christchurch from a visit to friends in Gisborne. Airs. Leonard Clark (Sydenham) is paying a visit to Aliss Cordy, at Coalgate. Airs. Courage (Amberley) and Airs. H. Harper are staying at New Brighton. -Aliss Kelsey has left Christchurch for Auckland. Airs. Arthur Reeves (Merivale) is staying at Balmoral for a few days.
