November 24. A Pleasant Afternoon. A small but very pleasant afternoon was given on Wednesday last by Mrs. Herdman to Mrs. L. B. Ewen, who is leaving Hamilton for a time to reside in Auckland. As the weather is still so abnormally warm and close, we all enjoyed sitting on the lawn under some large pear trees, where the breeze front the river was most refreshing. Mrs. Herdman received her guests in brown spotted muslin frock with square yoke of lace and narrow brown silk bands, large hat with brown silk; Mrs. L. B.
