PERSONAL NOTES.
Mr. Edward J. A. St even-on. date of the Audit Department, died at Wellington on Monday, aged 60 years. He was formerly a member of the Armed Constabulary. Mr. Stevenson retired from the department about three years ago owing to ill-health. The Hon. Geo. Fow Ids i Minister of Education), who will represent New Zealand at the opening of the Union Parliament of South Africa, was entertained to supper on Saturday evening by the members of the Legislative Council. Major T. W. Henderson. of Te Araroa. near Gisborne. It is rather remarkable that three brothers of the same family- are admirals, the other two being Vice-Admiral William Hannani Henderson, admiral superintendent of the Devonport dockyard: and RearAdmiral Frank Hannam Henderson.
