HAWERA, September 9. A Dance. A most enjoyable dance was given by Mr and Mrs Harry Lysaglit at their residence last Friday evening. The drawingroom and hail were used for dancing, and the verandah was enclosed for sitting out. The supper table was prettily arranged with bulbs and bowls of beautiful violets. The hostess received her guests in a pale blue satin charmeuse frock, trimmed with beautiful lace: Mrs Moore, black silk; Mrs Barton, prune coloured taffeta: Mrs Williamson, grey silk; Mrs Stewart, black satin, corsage trimmed with cream lace and violet velvet; Mrs O’Callaghan, white crepe de chine, trimmed with gold embroidery; Mrs McDiarmid, white net Empire gown, over satin; Mrs Smith (Okaiawa), black satin, relieved with white: Mrs R. McLean, heliotrope crepe, with bands of violet sequins; Mrs Parkinson, black chiffon taffeta; Miss Alexander, black velvet; Miss B. Nolan, blue satin charmeuse, relieved with Oriental trimmings: Miss Brett, pink satin charmeuse; Miss V. Brett, cream mousseline de soie, with touches of silver: Miss Reilly, pale pink taffeta; Miss C. Reilly, green velvet; Miss Douglas. pink taffeta, with touches of rose velvet; Miss Coutts, white satin charmeuse, corsage relieved with sequin trimming; Miss McLean, sage green satin: Miss Moore, pink satin, trimmed with Oriental embroidery; Miss E. Moore, pale blue taffeta, trimmed with blue chiffon and silver: Miss Thomas, brown velvet; Miss Glenn, yellow silk, with touches of black velvet; Miss Whitcombe, blue silk, lace bertlie: Miss Connolly, pale pink taffeta: Miss Williamson, white net, trimmed with chiffon; Miss Ward (Auckland), black satin, with lace berthe. Personal. Mrs Duckworth left Hawera last week for Wellington, where her future home will be. Miss Simpson, who has been the guest of Mrs Wallace, has returned to her home in Gisborne. JOAN.
