August 12. Rinking Party. Miss Shannon and her brother gave a most delightful linking party on Thursday last in the Drill Hall. The stage was done up as a drawing-room, with easy ehairs and carpets, and was used for bridge players and onlookers, among whom I noticed: Mr. and Mrs. Clayton, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Millar, Mr. and Mrs. Horrocks, Mr. and Miss Levett (Kiwitea), Mrs. Luxmoore, Mr. and Mrs. Mcßeth, Rev. and Miss Jones, Mrs. Walker, Miss Baddely (Wanganui), Miss Carey (Kiwitea), Mrs. McAllum, Dr. and Mrs. Willis.
