October 7. Tennis Party. Mr. and Mrs. J. Conolly entertained a number of friends on Saturday aftermoon at Springlands at a tennis party. The lawn was in excellent order, and many people enjoyed the game of tennis, •whilst others wandered through the .pretty garden. Some of those present '-were: Mesdames Woods, Wolferstein, 3. ■ The Spring Meeting of the Marlboreugh Racing Club opened on Wednesday at Riverlands, and although the weather in the morning was not too promising, yit turned out a perfect day. The at'tendance was not so good as usual. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. T. Moore, Nelson, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. Burden. Mr. and Mrs. R. Stevenson, “ Upcot," have returned from Wellington, and are now staying at the Criterion Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. F. Dillon have returned from their wedding trip Home.
