RUGBY. Auckland. The various enampionabips under the auspices ot the Auckland Rugby Union were continued on Saturday at Alexandra Park. The weather was beautiful, and there was an attendance ot about 2000, some £25 being taken at the gates. Only one senior match wu played, that between Parnell and Grafton, the former winning by 16 points to 9. The first round of the golf championships commenced at One-tree Hill on Saturday. The following are the results: — Burns beat Kelly, 5 up and 4 to go; Mackintosh beat Hanna. 2 up; P. Upton beat Ball. 2 up: Darga ville beat Dadley. 1 up; Mair beat Cave, 6 up and 5 to go; Lusk beat Heather, 3 up and 2 to go; O’Rorke gave a bye to MacCormick. NORTHERN UNION. City ▼. North Shore. Teams representing City and North Shors met at Epsom on Saturday, and payed the first c-ub match arranged by the Auckland Rugby League. The game ended in favour of North Shore by 44 points to 2L Maoris Defeat New South Wales* About twenty thousand attended th a Maori football match under Northern Union Rules on July 25.
