Dear Bee, May 22. Last Friday evening Mrs. John Anderson gave A FAREWELL TEA for Mrs. Blundell, of Nelson. The prizes were won by Mrs. Blundell and Mrs. A. Izard. There were six tables. Mrs. Anderson wore a green velvet gown with shoulder straps and yoke of fine embroidered lace, short puffed sleeves with edging of real lace; Miss Anderson, black voile skirt with gaugings of the material cream Valenciennes lace blouse, composed of .tiny frills of the lace over crimson glace silk slip. Amongst those present were Mrs. Colin Campbell, Mrs. Montgomerie, Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Izard. Mrs. Blundell, Mrs. Dodgshun, Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. Gordon, Miss Gresson (Christchurch), Mrs. Wall, Mrs. Christie, Mrs. Brettargh, Miss Brewer, Miss Reichart. On Friday, the Misses Mason gave A GUESSING AFTERNOON TEA In honour of Miss Blundell, of Nelson, who was also the lucky winner of the prize a pretty Pot-pourrn jar. Mrs. Mason wore a pale pink floral muslin frock with frills on the skirt and vest of Valenciennes lace and insertion; the Misses Mason, pale grey skirts and dainty white silk blouses: Miss Blundell (Nelson), cream Alpaca gown with V-shaped yoke and insertion, and Valenciennes lace, pale blue silk, hat with blue shaded eoque feathers; Miss C. Anderson, navy blue coat and skirt, brown straw hat with blue and brown shot ribbons and brown coque feathers at the side; Miss- H. Anderson, navy blue serge coat and skirt, cream vest, navy blue hat and black fur stole; Miss Wilford, dark green cloth costume with tiny waistcoat embroidered in silks, .white embroidery vest, green straw hat with wreath of blue and pink flowers and foliage; Miss Brettargh, grey cheek tweed c-oat and skirt, with facings of brown, and wide band of brown at tho foot of the skirt, large brown hat with ribbons and coque feathers; Miss Kirk (Hawke’s Bay), navy blue and white striped flannel long coat and skirt, red felt hat; Miss G. Ashcroft, long navy blue cloth coat and skirt, black and white hat; Miss Ethel Anderson, pale grey tweed coat and skirt, grey felt hat; Miss Wheeler (Rangitikei), brown cloth coat with wide collar of fur, brown skirt, and brown shaded hat to match; Miss Hadfield, navy blue cloth coat and skirt, white felt hat with silk rosettes in it. On Monday evening Miss Reichart gave A BRIDGE PARTY in honour of Mrs. Blundell, of Nelson. The prizes were won by Mrs. Gordon and Mrs. Blundell. Amongst those present , were Mesdames Stewart, Colin Campbell, Fairburn, Blundell, Anderson, Dodgshun. Gordon. Misses Brewer, Anderson, Mason, Stanford (New Plymouth), Gresson (Christchurch), Brettargh. On Tuesday evening Miss Brewer gave AN ENJOYABLE BRIDGE PARTY as a farewell fo Mrs. Blundell. There were seven tables. The prizes were wort by Miss Stanford (New Plymouth), Mrs. Izett, and Mr. Silk. PERSONALS. Mrs. and the Misses Cock, of Nelson, are staying in Wanganui. Mrs. G. Marshall, of Wanganui, is staying in Wellington for a short visit. Miss Blundell, of Nelson, left Wanganui this week for Rangitikei, where she is the guest of Mrs. E. Levett. Miss Stanford, of New Plymouth, is staying in Wanganui. Miss Moore, of Wangqnui,’~is staying in Wellington. Miss Wheeler, of Rangitikei, is staying in Wanganui with Mrs. Babbage.

Mrs. Blundell, of Nelson, who has been staying in Wanganui for some time with friends, left this week for Palmerston North. Miss Holmes, of Wellington, who has been on a. visit to Wanganui, has returned to the Empire City.
