Another of Miss Bedford’s CINDERELLA DANCES. eventuated last Wednesday evening in the Freema-son’s Hall, and was thoroughly enjoyed by those present, as the men were in the majority. The supper table was prettily decorated with pink and white camellias, while the floor was, as usual, in excellent order. Amongst those present were: Miss Bedford, cream figured tussore, with an olive green velvet ribbon belt, and shoulder straps, pale blue rosette in eoiffure.; Miss D. Bedford. shrimpy pink silk, full frilled skirt, fichu of cream lace, finished with tiny bows of pink ribbon; Mrs. G. A hockey match between Otago and Taranaki was played on the racecourse ground last Thursday afternoon, and was easily won by the visitors, the score being five goals to nil. Last Thursday evening in the Freemasons’ Hall, A SOCIAL was given to the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. E. Doekrill, by the Liberal and Labour Federation, at which Dr. McCleland presided, and speeches were made by Dr. McCleland, Mr. C. E. Bellringer. Mr. S. G. Smith (son of the late member), and Air. F. 11. Russell. Interspersed among the speeches were the following musical items:—Pianoforte solo, Miss J. Moore: songs. Miss Mabel Clarke, and Mr. E. Clarke: vocal duet, Misses Buekmann; violin solo, Mr. Loesch, after which dancing was indulged in into the wee sma’ hours. Mrs. Arnold George's orchestra provided the music. Messrs. E. Clarke and A. Humphries acted as M.C.'s. Mallet, who is leaving New Plymouth for the Old Country to undergo training and study at St. Augustine’s Missionary College, Canterbury, to fit him for the ministry.
