CAMBRIDGE.

Dear Bee. July 13. On Thursday evening the ladies of Cambridge gave A DANCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, and it was a great success. The floor was splendid, ami the music good. The committee had gone to entile** trouble in decorating. 1 think I never saw the hall looking better. The stage was made picturesque with greenery and carpets and easy »hairs, and small tables for bridge for the non-dancers. Three parts of the new supper-room was used by the dancers for sitting-out. and it was most charmingly transformed. As one entered from the hall-room, a large fern tree occupied the centre of the room, arounj which cushioned seats were arranged to form a triangle, and all sorts of <• -y corner* were arranged by meanfl of screens and nikau palms, etc. The general effv.-t was charming. The supper was excellent. The table was tastefully hi. \ntu-d with pink and white camellia*. Coates, black net evening frock; Miss Banks, soft white silk over pink sit.x; Mrs. A. Gibbons, a most becoming dress of eau de Nil* chiffon taffeta over pale pink glace, a folded bodice, trimmed with lace, and spray of tiny pink roses; Miss Hally, white muslin de soie, trimmed with quantities of French Valenciennes lace; Miss Hill, white silk an.l pink roses in coiffure; Miss Wells, pink silk evening frock, with spray of tea roses on corsage; Miss M.
