THE AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD have adopted Ferro-Concrete for the construction of their wharves. The above illustrations show a portion of the RailwayWharf now under construction. It will be 1,200 feet long by an average of 240 feet wide, composed entirely of fortified concrete, being a framework of steel —designed for strength to carry the specified live and dead loads; the steelwork is encased in concrete and hermetically sealed.
