Dear Bee, July 28. On Monday afternoon Mrs Holme® Dean gave A MOST ENJOYABLE AFTEKNOOM TEA at her residence in Clyde-road. We had nice music during the afternoon, songs by Mrs Henley, Mrs Moore, Miss McFarlane, Miss Martin, Miss Dean, piano solos by Misses Williams, Todd, Goldsmith, Campbell, and a violin solo by Miss Shaw. We also bad a Memory Test Competition, which was won by Miss Hodges. The afternoon tea was most delicious. The table was daintily deeorated with lanvls of violets and primroses. Mrs Dean wore black voile with white lace yoke; Miss Dean wore black voile skirt with pretty white silk blonse; Miss Myrtle Dean, pretty soft pink silk blouse, black skirt; Mrs Palmer. pink silk blouse, blaek satin skirt; Mrs Cane, navy blue eoat and skirt, blue and pink hat; Mrs Moore, green eoat and skirt, cornflower toque; Mrs Hansard, bright blue voile dress, black hat: Mrs Henley, pretty brown eoat and skirt, revers of pale bine, blue and green hat; Mrs Dunean, dark dress, cheek Inverness eoat, green and violet hat; Mrs Todd, blaek coat and skirt, and white toque; Miss Martin, pretty blue and white spotted delaine, bauds of cream insertion, blue hat with yellow trimmings; Miss Jardine, navy blue eoat and skirt, revers of white silk. navy blue hat; Miss Rutherford, pretty blue costume, crossover bodice; Aliss Kennedy, grey costume, trimmed with white, grey toqus

Hindmarsh, neat navy blue coat and skirt, cream blouse, sailor hat. Last Friday we had our fifth HARMONIC CONCERT, and. as usual, the theatre was crowded. Miss Mills made her first appearance here. She possesses a very sweet, welltrained soprano voice, and took the solos in “The May Queen” very well. Amongst the audience I noticed Mesdanies Ilovell, Margoliouth, Steadman, Rutherford, McLean, McLernon, Cato, Hoadley, Coleman, Dean, Todd, Misses Hoadley, Naish, Rutherford, MeLernon (2), Ilovell, Kennedy (2), Dean, Todd, Fannin, Ruddoek, Me Vay, Goldsmith, Seal, etc. Saturday was a glorious day for golf, and the links looked very gay, as a great many people took advantage of the beautiful weather and went out. Mrs James McLean presented a trophy, which was won by Miss McLernon. On Thursday Mrs. John McVay gave A MOST DELIGHTFUL AFTERNOON TEA at her residence on the Marine Parade for Miss Lynn Mills, who is at present staying with her. During the afternoon Miss Mills and Miss Large sang. Mrs. McVay received her guests in a handsome black satin gown; Miss Mary McVay wore pretty pale blue voile trimmed with cream* lace; Miss McVay, brown costume with pretty brown hat to match; Miss Jessie McVay, neat gnSy Norfolk coat and skirt, navy blue hat; Miss Mills, dainty white muslin over white silk; Mrs Nantes, very handsome brown dress trimmed with white and big brown hat ; Mrs. Baxter, navy blue coat and skirt, big black hat; Miss Hobbs, prune-coloured frock, hat to match, brown furs; Miss McLernon, dainty giv?y costume, white felt hat trimmed with violets; Miss C. MeLernon, brown skirt, white silk blouse, brown bat ; Miss Jessie Brown, navy blue coat and skirt, brown hat; Miss Humphries, grey costume with brown hat; Miss E. Last Saturday afternoon THE MARORO HOCKEY GIRLS travelled out to Meanee to play tlie local team there. It turned out a most glorious afternoon, and the outing was enjoyed by everyone. Delicious afternoon tea was dispensed by the Meanee ladies, who did their best to make our afternoon an enjoyable one. The play at times was very fast and exciting, and when half time was called th? Maroros had to their credit a score of two goals to their opponents’ nil. During the second spell the Meanee girls’ defence was very good, and, in spite of the frequent attacks which our local team made, the score remained unchanged, leaving the Maroros victorious by two goals. Some smart walking dresses I have noticed are: Mrs. Steadman, dark grey cloth coat and skirt, gn?y toque, largo grey muff; Miss K. Hoadley, check Norfolk coat and skirt, floral hat; Miss Fannin, smart brown cloth coat and skirt, brown beaver hat; Mrs. Baxter, blue coat and skirt, bright red waistcoat, black and white hat; Mrs. Harrold, brown eloth OOstume, nale blue toque, brown furs.
