MOTOR BOAT RACING.
The* graceful yacht has survived the introduction of steam, ami still holds the premier position for c ruising and racing, hut the reign of this picturesque craft is undoubtedly imperilled by the application of the oil* motor to boats. There were many reasons why steam —dirt and inconvenience, for instance—should, be barred from the realms of sport and plea sure*: but hardly one of these objections holds good against the motor. The out-and-out yachtsman and his boat will die hard—and more power to them—but the craving for speed will have its way. and already at Home motor-boat raving is getting quite common. We illustrate on this page a recent rave between England an<| Frame*. The Old Country was re present ecl by “Napier Minor.” driven by Mr F. S. Edge*, the* famous motorist, and a well-known boat called the* Trefle-a-Quatre. represented France. The race resulted in a simple* win for the Eng ’ish boat.
