One of the Chief Causes of Juvenile Crime: Pernicious Literature.
On Friday last two boys, aged 15, were charged at the Auckland Police Court with having, in eighteen eases, during the month of September, been guilty of fire-raising. The youngster, pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The father of one of the boys applied
for bail, w'hich was refused. The father of the other said he would not accept the responsibility of looking after his boy. Detective Grace said that w’hile the boys were confined in the female side of the police cells, they tried to borrow a match from one of the female prisoners to set fire to a padded cell.
