To Clean Corks.

It is as well to keep old corks, should they be good ones, as they often come in very useful, but, as they cannot well be used without cleaning in some way, the following simple method of doing so may be of interest. For those who do any home-made wines it will be a very useful thing to know. The method is simply to place the corks in a tub of water, which has Deen mixed with 10 per cent, of sulphuric acid. Leave them in this for 24 hours, then wash them, first in boiling, then in cold water, when they will be free from the slightest smell or taste.
