A very enjoyable afternoon party was given on Saturday, the 2nd inst., by Mrs Cutten at her residence, “Belmont,” in honour of Miss Esme Eliott and Miss Mowbray, who are returning home to Auckland, after a long and pleasant visit amongst their relations and friends in Dunedin. Messrs Cutten. were Miss Esme Eliott, Miss Daisy Mowbray. Mrs and Miss Hart, Mr E.‘ B. and Miss Cargill, Mrs Petre. Mrs George and the Misses McLean, Mrs George Turnbull, Mr and Mrs Eliot Eliott, Dr. and Mrs Hocken, Mrs Cargill, Mrs B. C. Hag gitt, Mrs and Miss Johnston, Miss Haggitt. Miss Gualter (Wellington), Mrs Gallaway. Miss M. Sinclair, Mrs and the Misses Rattray, Mr Hart, jun.. Mr Dunean, Mr Lewis, and others. The day was very tine, though too cold for rambling through the gardens and grounds, but it was all the more enjoyable to assemble at the cosy tea table provided by Mrs Cutten.
