Dear Bee, November 13. The weather on the PRINCE OF WALES’ BIRTHDAY was beautifully fine and warm; in fact our first summer day. so that all who were able spent the holiday out of doors. Numbers travelled by rail Io Motupiko, Spring Grove, and other places, ami by boat to Motueka; others drove to cable Bay and the Maori Pa hush, whilst croweds visited the sands and the favourite Maitai Valley, which is made doubly attractive now that the bridges are finished. THE NELSON LAWN TENNIS CLUB’S pretty grounds also attracted many visitors to witness the opening of the season, which was held on that day. Afternoon tea was provided by the club, and was dispensed by Mrs Sweet, the Misses Fell, Levien, and others. Mrs Watts wore a handsome black
