OBITUARY.

MRS THOMPSON. We have to announce with regret the death of Mrs Thompson, the wife of the Hon. Thomas Thompson (Minister for Justice), at her residence. Mount Eden, at twenty minutes to three last Friday morning. Mrs Thompson had been ill for a long time, and had been confined to her bed for the last five months, and suffered very much, but her end was a peaceful one. Owing to the illness of Mrs Thompson the Hon. Mr Thompson has been unable to attend to his Parliamentary duties during the present session, and he will have the sympathy of the Auckland people in his bereavement. Mrs Thompson was 6S years of age at the time of her death. MR T. M. WILKINSON*. One of Dunedin's oldest and most resjtevted citizens passed away last week in the person of Mr T. M. Wilkinson. at. his residence. St. Ronans. Upper l)unda«-sVrvet, at the age of 75. The deceased gentleman came to the colony in ISG2 from Melbourne, where he had been in the employ of Messrs Youngman. When he arrived in Dunedin there were only two chemists' shops there, and he purchased the business which was then carried on by Mr Henry Reynolds, on the premises now occupied by Mr E. E. Woodward. Mr Wilkinson for some time held a seat in the City Council, but although he was always a good citizen and held in high esteem by those who knew him he had no great liking for public life, and of late years devoted himself mainly to business. The deceased gentleman's end was not unexpected, he haring been in failing health for a long time.
