AUCKLAND HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A meeting of the Committee of the Auckland Horticultural Society was held at the Criterion Rooms, Qneenstreet, on Wednesday evening. There were present Mr Alfred Hoskings (Chairman), Messrs Harvey, Marriner, Wright, Jacka, Mrs McKean, and the Secretary (Mr Satchell). Dates for the year’s shows were fixed as follows: —Chrysanthemum Show, 19th, 20th, and 21st April. Summer Show, 17th and 18th November. It was also resolved on the motion of Mr Wright, seconded by Mrs McKean, that a show for bulbs and early spring flowers be held at rooms to be engaged in Queen-street, some time during September, and it was suggested that a similar show for dahlias be held next autumn. On the motion of Mr Wright, seconded by the Chairman, it was decided to excise the second clause of Rule xi, thus permitting two or more bona fide growers to compete from the same garden.
