POLO.

On Saturday last polo was played in Hunter and Nolan s Paddock, Auckland, as the members considered it inadvisable to play at Potter’s after the late heavy rain, and as every endeavour is being made by the Auckland players to get Potter’s Paddock in perfect order for the tournament, which will commence, I believe, some time early in March. The roller and lawn mower are kept continually going, and with the present rain a great impression should be made upon the ground. Matches were played amongst the following players on Saturday :—Messrs O’Rorke, Bloomfield, Tonks, C. E. Purchas, Whewell, Williamson, J. Wynyard, Hume, H. Wynyard, B. Gordon, Elliott, A. Hanna, Harrison, Dr. Sharman, etc.
