Dear Bee. April 11. There were quite a number in the Provincial Hall on Tuesday evening when a TABLEAUX DANCE was given by those taking part in the late Tableaux. Among others were Mrs Howie in rich black velvet and yellow silk draped on the low corsage ; Mrs Bunny, buttercup silk with black lace flounce and lace on the bodice; Mrs Robinson, black silk, small lace cap: Mrs Preshaw, virs Lightfoot, Mrs Macquarrie. Mrs Scaife and Mrs Wright all in black evening dresses: Mrs Fell, bright red silk and velvet gown; Mrs Bell (Dunedin), black lace and heliotrope ; Mrs Burnes, who was quite the best-dressed woman in the hall, wore a lovely Sink brocaded gown ; Miss Pike, red silk draped with black lace ; liss J. Pike, black evening dress; Miss Curtis, her tableau dress of soft white muslin, with long green silk sash draped elegantly on one shoulder and falling to the ground behind ; Miss K. Fell, Gipsy; Miss B. Atkinson, MissG. Jones. Miss J. Wright, all wore their cachucha dresses; Miss Jones, her minuet dress of brown brocade, and powdered hair; Miss Pitt, black velvet, powdered hair; Miss J. Pitt, soft white gown; Miss Robinson looked extremely well in rich white silk ; Miss Gannaway, pale blue evening dress; Miss Moore, pretty pink gown : Miss Gribben, Gipsy : Miss H. Collins (Kaikoura). pretty blue evening dress; Misses Hyde and Lightfoot. Gipsies ; Miss Greenfield; Miss Preshaw, pink cashmere gown; Miss Ledger, rich black lace gown ; Miss L. A meeting of THE CRICKET ASSOCIATION was held last Saturday evening, when the Wakefield Club were S resented with the trophy they had won as winners of the hanipionship for this year. The trophy, which had been kindly made and presented by Mrs Topliss. was a pennant of pale blue silk with the words 'Nelson Cricket Association’ written in yellow silk across it. A bat was also presented to the winner of the highest batting average for the season, and this was won by Mr P. Broad with 225 runs, average 25*5.
