Mr. A. E. Kernot.

Mr. A. E. Kernot, who is representative in New Zealand for the firms of Messrs. Jules Renat d & Co., J. W. Tod & Co., & Heyde Todman & Co., settled in New Zealand in 1892. He was born in Melbourne in 1866 and educated in Victoria. He entered the employment of Jules Renard & Co. some six years ago, and travelled through the colonies for them in conjunction with the other two firms mentioned above, and met with such success that he was appointed to the sole control of their business in New Zealand. Since his residence here he has been successful in extending the business until at the presen this various “ lines” have achieved notoriety from Auckland to the Bluff. In fact a big business lias been carefully built up, which includes as it sprincipal features, Prellers Wines, Elberfeld Lager Beer, Henry Clay Cigars, Diadem Tobacco, Walker’s Whisky, and Austrian chairs. Mr. Kernot has made Wellinglon his head-quarters, but has agents throughout the colony. He' is also the representative ’in New Zealand for Dry Monopolo Champagne, a brand which has recently made great progress in New Zealand, as well as the Australian Colonies, .
