Stolen.
Stolen, from the person of Theodore Doyle, about midnight on the 24th January, 1874, a £lO note, bank or number not known. John Brewster Mousley, who was in company with Doyle, drinking, is suspected j,age.27, sft 7in., stout build, fresh complexion, hark hair, small beard and moustache, dressed in dark clothes and dear-stalker hat, still in Christchurch. This is a very doubtful, case.
Stolen, from : the person of Mrs. Eliza Riston, of Waltham, atlck’s sale-yards, about l p.m. 31st January,': 1874, an - old. leather purse, containing a half sovereign, a shilling, a penny, and a receipt for some land. Receipt and purse identifiable.
Stolen, from the person of Mrs. Ellen McSaveney, of Harewood 'Road; at the same time and place as above stated, a .brown leather purse ■ with ' steel ' clasp,, containing four single notes,''Bank of New Zealand, one half sovereign, and fourteen or fifteen shillings in silver. Purse identifiable.

Stolen, from the \ till., in ,the , Bush Inn, Riccarton, abou\t, noon on the 26th January, 1874, a £1 note, bank and number unknown. An old man, 45 years, sft Bin., thin face, grey whiskers cut .short, .moleskin trousers, and old-tweed.coat, and.billycock hat, who went down the South Road, is suspected.
Stolen, from Mein’s boiling-down establishment, about 3 p m. on the 31st ulto., a.£l; note, Bank of New Zealand, corner torn off and mended with newspaper, and one half | sovereign, the property of Theodore Arnold. Note identifiable. A man named Eoote is suspected, as he was seen leaving Arnold’s 1 room, where the money was in Arnold’s ; waistcoat pocket hanging up . during '' his absence! ' ' " ■

John Brook Hunter is charged on warrant with larceny ’ as a V bailee' of a clarionet, * since recovered. Description:Native of Victoria about 32 'years; sft 8 or 9 in., - dark hair' turning;-grey, beard and whiskers shaved' dark moustache, printer by trade, has been an; actor, good musician, theatrical : appearance.' Offender is believed' to have joined the Clara Stephenson'-Troupe in the Ota<>-o Province. -- . b
Joseph Leatham, Irish, 32 years; sft 4in., stout build, fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, a. baker, dressed in light tweed ■suit, and'black, billycock hat, is charged on warrant, filed in Commissioner’s office, with stealing from the dwelling of Samuel Skillen, at ,'r Christchurch, [ about the 25th ulto. Samuel Eipps, English, 28 years, Oft., fair complexion,vhair, beard, and moustache, is charged on warrant, filed in Commissioner’s office, with - deserting from ship Pleiades during the night of . the 11th inst. Captain Roberts offers £1 for the . arrest of this man, and £5 on conviction of the person assisting him to desert.
