No. 63/1949 —Petition of Mollie MoDermott Praying for a war widow's pension. I have the honour to report that the member presenting the petition, having requested permission to withdraw it, the Committee recommends that he be allowed to do so. Ist November, 1950.

No. 14—Petition of B. Howard Praying for grant of a retrospective war pension and inquiry into the administration of the War Pensions Act, 1943. 1 have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition. It has no recommendation to make on Part 1 of the petition. In view of the Government's decision to appoint a Commission of Inquiry relating to war pensions, the Committee has no recommendation to make on Part 2. Ist November, 1950.

No. 17—Petition of P. Sampson Praying for compensation in addition to his pension. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and- has no recommendation to make. Ist November, 1950.

No. 61/1949—Petition of J. H. Blake, of Wellington Praying for consideration of his claim for a war pension. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 15th November, 1950.

No. 64/1949—Petition of A. W. Inner, of Dannevirke Praying for a war service gratuity. I have the honour to report that the member presenting the petition, having requested permission to withdraw it, the Committee recommends that he be allowed to do so. 15th November, 1950.

No. 40—Petition of B. F. Cooper, of Auckland Praying that he be granted an ex gratia war pension or other compensation in respect of disabilities suffered as a result of war service. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends that it be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 15th November, 1950,, T.
