REPORTS Auckland City Council and Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Auckland City Council and Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed without further amendment. 23rd August, 1950. Masterton Trust Lands Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Masterton Trust Lands Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the further amendment shown in the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 23rd August, 1950. Whakatane Harbour Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the Whakatane Harbour Amendment Bill, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with the further amendment as shown in the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. 30th August, 1950. No. I—Petition of A. P. Harper and Another (representing the Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand, Inc.) Praying for the preservation of the Waipoua Forest " in a state of Nature for all time " by having the forest declared a national park under a Board of Trust or other body. I have the honour to report that the Lands Committee has carefully considered the petition, and recommends, that the petition be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration, but that the control and protection of the forest remain under the New Zealand Forest Service. The Committee also recommends that the New Zealand Forest Service should continue its silvicultural work outside an area to be defined when aerial mosaics are available.' 30th August, 1950.
