The following schedule gives details of land purchased for other than ex-servicemen settlement, but does not include land acquired for scenic or recreational purposes :
DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS As mentioned earlier in the report, a good season has been experienced throughout the country, and this, coupled with increased availability of materials, resulted in continued good progress being made in developing land for settlement. The following comments are submitted on the development and settlement operations by the officers in charge of this work in each district: —- Auckland Development District Ardparera, at Kaukapakapa, 389 acres. Acquired : November, 1944. Objective : Two dairyfarms ; one of 180 acres allotted July, 1947. Balance of 209 acres totally undeveloped. Awaroa, at Ruawai, 461 acres. Acquired: 287 acres February, 1945, and 174 acres May, 1948. Objective: Five dairy-farms. Three allotted August, 1948; two for allottment July, 1950.
