No. 21.—Petition of New Zealand Federated Dental Technicians and Assistants' Industrial Association op Workers Praying for an amendment to the Dentists Act, 1936. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends it be referred to the Government for consideration with a view to utilizing to the best advantage the services of trained dentists and dental technicians. In the view of the Committee it would be unwise to permit dental technicians to undertake the range of prosthetic work claimed by the petitioners. It believes, however, that there is room for a larger measure of co-ordination between these two complementary parts of the dental service. 9th October, 1946.
