Ordered, " That a Selfect Committee bo appointed, consisting, By leave, of eighteen members, to consider all petitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting the Native race that may be referred to it, and from time to time to report thereon to this House : the Committee to consist of Mr. Allen, the Right Hon. Mr. Coates Mr Cullen, Mr. Frost, Mr. Kidd, the Hon. Mr. Lattgstone, Mr.Lowry.theHon. Mr. Mason, Mr. Massey, Mr. Moncur, the Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata, Mr. O'Brien, Mr. Paikea, Mr. Ratana, Mr. Thorn, Mr. Tirikatene, Mr. Williams, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Fraseb, for Right Hon. Mr. Savage.) Thursday, the 3rd Day of August, 1939. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1938 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session." —(Hon. Mr. Fraser.) Wednesday, the 20th Day ov September, 1939. Memoranda for the Chairman, Native Affairs Committee: — " Pursuant to section 40 of the Native Purposes Act, 1931, Paper No. 169 (East Coast Native Trust Lands—Mangatu Nos. 1, 3, and 4 Blocks : Balance-sheet and Statement of Accounts for year ended 30th June, 1939) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee." , " Pursuant to section 40 of the Native Purposes Act, 1931, Paper No. 170 (East Coast Native 1 rust Lands : Balancesheet and Statements of Accounts for year ended 30th June, 1939) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee." Tuesday, the 19th Day oe September, 1939. Ordered,, " That the Native Purposes Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Langstone.) Friday, the 22nd Day op September, 1939. Memoranda for the Chairman, Native Affairs Committee :— " Pursuant to section 16 of the Native Purposes Act, 1937, Paper No. 178 (Report and Recommendation on Petition No 66 of 1936, of W. Baker and others; Petition No. 262 of 1936, of Kaperiera Te Pohe and others; and Petition No 301 of 1936 of Matewai Utiera and others re Tarawera Block) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee." ' " Pursuant to section 23 of the Native Purposes Act, 1938, Paper No. 179 (Report and Recommendation on Petition No. 177 of 1937, of Rangirumaki Pereniki, of Paeroa, praying for an inquiry in respect of the ownership of Muraoteahi Block) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee."
