On a show of hands, Mr. Barnes was declared elected. The scrutineers or poll-clerks: Mr. Hennessey proposed, and Mr. McCann seconded, Mr. W. H. Frost. Messrs. Bolton and Finucane nominated Mr. T. Pressley. Mr. Birt Nye was also proposod'by Mr. Harrison. On a show of hands, Messrs. W. H. Frost and T. Pressley were declared elected. » The chairman then intimated that the business of the meeting had been completed, and thanked the members for the assistance they had given him in getting through. I HAVE to report that in terms of section 73 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1009, a special meeting was held in the clubroom on the 3rd January, 1918, at 8 p.m., to confirm, an amendment of rules passed at a special meeting hold on the 21st December, 1917. Mr. Dolling and Mr. McCann nominated Mr. Bruce as chairman. Tho minutes of the last special general meeting were then read by the secretary, approved, and signed. After reading the Registrar's memorandum, and also the new rule as adopted on the 21st ultimo, the rule was duly confirmed, on the motion of Mr. McCann, seconded by Mr. Willmott.
