No. 891. —Petition of John R. Lambert and Others, of Towai, Auckland. Petitioners allege that the system upon which Crown lands are thrown open for selection is unsatisfactory, and pray for inquiry. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends the prayer of the petition be granted, and that it be referred to Government for favourable consideration. 26th September, 1901.

Petitioner prays for relief in connection with the leasing by the Railway Department of a narrow reserve between his property and the Westport-Ngakawau railway-line.
