I wish to say now, with regard to the statement (Question 94) referring to the Governor's approval, that, after the lapse of eighteen months, I am not prepared to say who made the suggestion; but, as Sir John Coode's report was written shortly after the interview, it is more than probable that he is correct —that I did suggest it. I stated (Question 67) that the cost of cement was £5 55.; but from further calculations I find it to be £5 Is. I also stated (Question 107) that the increased cost, of cement represented a difference of £13,500. I now wish to state that, upon further calculation, I
