ORDERS OP REFERENCE Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives Wednesday, the 12th Day of July, 1950 Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all Bills or other matters relating to labour which may be referred to it: the Committee to consist of Mr. Chapman, Mr. Johnstone, Mr. McAlpine, Mr. R. Macdonald, the Hon. Mr. McLagan, Mr. Mathison, Mr. Roy, Mr. Sheat, Mr. Sim, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Sullivan.) Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1949 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session."—(Right Hon. Mr. Holland.) Tuesday, the 3rd Day or October, 1950 Ordered, " That the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Sullivan.) REPORTS No. 21—Petition of Joseph Divis Praying for a rehearing of his petition of 1948. Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered the Industrial Conciliation and' Arbitration Amendment Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed with the amendments shown in the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. J. K. McAlpine, Chairman. 9th November, 195(J). No. 53/1949—Petition of K. Gr. Gaffey Praying for the repeal of section 37 of the Crown Suits Act, 1908. I have the honour to report that the member presenting the petition, having requested permission to withdraw it, the Committee recommends that he be allowed to do so. 29th November, 1950, No. 15—Petition of Catherine M. Aitken Praying for compensation for injuries received in the course of her employment. I have the honour to report that the Labour Bills Committee has carefully considered, this petition, and, recommends that it be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 29th November, 1950. No. 25—Petition of James Scott Praying for examination by the panel of doctors in Christchurch in connection with his application for ai miners' phthisis pension. I have the honour to report that the member presenting the petition, having requested permission to withdraw it, the Committee recommends that he be allowed to do so. J. A.
