REPORTS
No. 19.—Petition of A. Sainsbury and Others, of Otahuhu, Auckland Praying for immediate provision of small recovery homes for treatment of cases of nervous breakdown. I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee has carefully considered this petition, and has no recommendation to make. The Committee finds that the revised policy and plans now in course of implementation by the Health Department are more practical and will largely meet the requirements of the petitioners. 4th August, 1946.

No. 41.—Petition of. J. Y. Wallis and Others, of Marewa, Napier Praying for the provision of a proper and efficient sewerage system at Marewa. No. 56.—Petition of T. M. Brennen and Others Praying that the Government take steps to provide for a reduction in the cost of dentures. No. 21.—Petition of New Zealand Federated Dental Technicians and Assistants' Industrial Association op Workers Praying for an amendment to the Dentists Act, 1936. I have the honour to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition, and recommends it be referred to the Government for consideration with a view to utilizing to the best advantage the services of trained dentists and dental technicians. In the view of the Committee it would be unwise to permit dental technicians to undertake the range of prosthetic work claimed by the petitioners. It believes, however, that there is room for a larger measure of co-ordination between these two complementary parts of the dental service. 9th October, 1946.
