No. 1. Copy of a DESPATCH from the Bight Hon. the Earl of Kimbeklev to Governor Sir Arthur Hamilton Gordon. (New Zealand, General.) Sir, — Downing Street, Ist June, 1882. I have the honour to inform you that your telegram of the 26th of May has been laid hefore the Queen, and that Her Majesty has commanded me to convey to the House of Bepresentatives of New Zealand, through the Governor, her thanks for their congratulations on her preservation from the recent attempt upon her life, and her appreciation of their expressions of attachment and loyalty. No. 2. Copy of a DESPATCH from the Right Hon. the Earl of Kimbehley to Governor Sir Arthur Hamilton Gordon. (New Zealand, General.) Sir, — Downing Street, 7th June, 1882. I have the honour to inform you that tho message contained in your telegram of the Ist of June has heen submitted to the Queen, and that I am commanded hy Her Majesty to convey her warm appreciation of the sentiments expressed hy the Legislative Council of New Zealand on the occasion of her escape from the recent attempt upon her life.
