MANY FARMERS PREFER LARGE SINGLES to twins at time of lambing, but Sir Geoffrey Peren, in commenting on the low lambing rates in hill country flocks states that for the farmer breeding replacements, the smaller twins have made up the difference in size by the time they are four-tooths. Sir Geoffrey Peren adds that “at a guess” 30 to 35 per cent of the Dominion’s flocks are in the 70 to 95 per cent lambing group.
