MAY DAY is widely observed in the United States as Child Health Day. Since 1923 when the observance began, many communities have established the practice of holding all-day clinics at which children get free physical examinations and innoculation against contagious diseases. Here youngsters are innoculated against diphtheria at a clinic in New York City.
