KARAKA BAY, ONE OF THE GEMS OF WELLINGTON’S SEASIDE RESORTS. It is oil the western side of the entrance to Wellington Harbour, about half way between Seatoun and Fort Ballance. It was called Karaka Bay because of the profusion of karaka trees along its shore.
