WAIRAU MASSACRE RECALLED.-A Maori skull and tiki were found near the scene of the Wairau Massacre In the course of excavation work, the discoveries concerning the body of a Maori woman named Te Ronga, who was hit by a bullet from one of the pakeha guns, which is said to have brought about the whole massacre. A picture of the skull is inset, showing the bullet hole.
