The Spirit of Trafalgar.—To-day is the 131st anniversary of the famous sea buttle at Trafalgar, which decided the aspirations of Napoleon to sea power and lifted Britain to her proud position of mistress of the seas. The memory of Lord Nelson and the tradition he established is kept evergreen by the preservation of bis flagship, the Victory, in dry dock at Portsmouth.

PREPARING FOR THE NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL.—A view of the site which is now being prepared for the erection of the National War Memorial Museum and Art Gallery. Trenches are being excavated for the foundations, and the stone prepared for the building itself. Wellington Technical College can be seen in the background. THE VICTORY PUTS TO SEA.- Manned by officers and men dressed in the uniforms of Nelson’s day, the 50ft model of the Victory cruised round the south coast in connection with Portsmouth Navy Week.
